PG&E Customers Face Fourth Rate Hike in 2024
The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) has approved PG&E’s fourth rate increase of 2024, resulting in another hike in electricity costs for Californians. This increase will add about $6 per month on average to customers’ bills.
This is the fourth rate increase that PG&E customers have seen in 2024.
- In January, non-CARE customers saw an increase of 16.5% in their electric bill.
- In March, there was a smaller increase, averaging less than a dollar per month.
- In early September, there was a $6 increase per month on average, related to natural gas rates.
CARE customers are not exempt from the increases. They saw a 16% increase in their electric bill in January and a $6 increase per month in early September.
These rate hikes are making it difficult for many Californians to afford their electricity bills. In a tough economy, every dollar counts.
